It appears I have a stalker here, so from now on, at least for the time being, I'm going to have to make everything visible to my neighborhood only. If you're one of my friends who doesn't have a vox, you'll need to either sign up for one, or email me, and I can set you up with email feeds of my blog. Or, if you do have a vox, but I haven't added you to my neighborhood, let me know, and I'll add you.
You know, it amazes me, the way some people can say "Support our Troops" in one breath, and then scream at you for trying to enjoy the very rights said troops are trying to protect and defend. Talk about hypocrites. There is freedom of speech, and right to assemble, last I checked.
Where do you consider home? Is it the place you grew up; the place you're currently living? Why is it home?

Home is where ever I live with my hubby and our daughter. My hometown is Omaha, and I'm proud to be from there, and may live there again someday.
On the way to work today, I was listening to the radio, and there was an ad for the local cable company. They were listing all their "exciting" channels, when they said something that almost made me hit a tree - there's a GOLF channel?!?!?! And people actually PAY for that!?!?!?!
Now you can PAY to be bored!!

Hermoine Granger: You are really smart, and your best friends are Ron and Harry. As for best girl friend- Ginny Weasley. Lay off the schoolwork though.
(I got this from Quizzilla, but the paste function wouldn't work, so I just copied the pic and text off)
Here's an interesting article you may or may not have seen about librarians: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/08/fashion/08librarian.html?em&ex=1184126400&en=a0039b125f489b9b&ei=5087%0A
I've been thinking lately, and you know, I wouldn't mind winning the lottery, and not winning 80 million trillion dollars. If I could clear $500,000, I could pay all our bills (including the mortgage), pay the taxes, put money aside for Maeve's college (and for our next child as well), get James a new car, and then James could drop to part time if he wanted. I don't really want tons of money - I just want a chance to get ahead, like everyone else. :)
I just spent half an hour wrestling with my daughter's closet door. It's one of those metal acordian ones, on runners, and I'm afraid it's going to fall on her one day. The damn thing keeps getting jammed up, and it's chewed up the wall and baseboard. I took a screwdriver to it, and I think I've got it fixed for now. When my mom is here in a couple of weeks, I think she and I are going to go to Home Depot and get a new door for that stupid closet. I wonder if I can just put a regular door on it - for some reason, this condo is short on doors. Or at least doors that work. :P
Just a quote I liked, and thought I'd post:
"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand."
